I love digital cameras. I love being able to *snap* *snap* *snap* without having to worry about paying for each photograph I take.
Now coming to think about it, I don’t think I’d ever use those old-fashioned cameras with reels in them.
Can you think about how many priceless memories may not have been caught on film…
just because the photographer was weighing each click against each dollar that would have to be shelled out?
Yikes!
Well, having said that, it goes without saying that I have tons and tons…
and tons of photographs stored on our hard drives.
Tons of memories.
And if I had dollar for every photograph stored on every possible memory device in my home, I’d be a millionaire by now!
Thankfully as a YesVideo Ambassador I’ve learnt that there is…
an easier, affordable and more reliable way to preserve memories!
The Easy
With YesVideo you can choose to either
- Go online, order and ship directly to YesVideo or
- Order an EasyShip kit or
- Do what I did…do a drop off at a dedicated retail location.
filled up a form with details (What I wanted as a title for our Blu-Ray DVD, the sort of music I wanted used for the three 1 minute long photo slideshows and my contact details.)
and handed over my memory card, watched it sealed into the envelope and got a receipt to confirm my order.
The Affordable
My husband was honestly taken aback when I told him making a 90 minute Blu-Ray DVD,, crammed with memories, costs a mere 19 odd dollars (inclusive of tax).
Seriously!
That’s practically nothing!!
Oh and if you’re like me, always on the hunt for a deal, then make sure you check out this offer if ordering online!
The Reliable
I have to be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I got the call, three weeks later.
I was asked to pick up the order from the Sam’s Club location I’d initially dropped my card at.
My order came packaged in a bubble wrap envelope holding a secure-seal envelope with my DVD and a separate sealed sleeve with my memory card.
To say I was eager to watch the DVD right away, would be an absolute understatement!
It was pure torture to see the DVD and have to wait till Hubby got home, later that evening. So to celebrate we threw ourselves a Family Memory Evening complete with pizza! (Yes! I definitely see the potential of this becoming a new family tradition, considering Hubs is already collecting what he wants for the next two DVDs!!)
It was so beautiful to re-live the special memories once again…
laugh at the stories behind each photograph/video…
and see the look on the kids’ faces as we ooh-ed and aah-ed over their adorable antics on our home videos.
What’s great is I can even share all of our memories with family and friends across the miles.
Oh and wait there’s more!
.
YesVideo has launched a new iPhone app today to allow you to actually watch all those movies when you’re away from the computer/DVD player, home or simply miles away.
What an awesome way to carry ( and enjoy) your “world” with you, when on the go!
I’m yet to try out the app but thought I’d share the news, hot off the press!
Create a “YesMemory” with your family.
As a YesVideo ambassador, I’m encouraging you to make an effort to create memories with your family.
Life zooms by way too fast!
Take lots of pictures, videos and preserve those memories for a lifetime.
And don’t forget to create a YesVideo DVD to safely store this all for the years to come.
If you’re on Facebook, come share your family memories on the YesVideo wall, on Twitter using the #YesMemory hashtag or on Instagram.
Every life is a story. Share yours.
How do you preserve your family’s memories?

Geez, thanks for sharing this. I always feel bad for not organizing an album of all my previous photos and my daughter’s. I resorted actually to photobooks which is actually quite expensive. This is surely a great alternative.

Well honestly, I don’t have a very reliable way of preserving the memories. One of the best ways I’ve found is to publish pics I love on my blog; that way I know I’ll always be able to find them! Lol Something like YesVideo would be perfect for me!

This is such a neat idea for a gift! It’s much less work than making a photo album or scrapbook by hand.

I’m forever creating backup DVDs of photos and videos of my kids, I already have probably over 100. YesVideo sounds great, time saving too when it comes to making backups a bit more special than simply throwing files onto a disc.

I love the pic with the dolphin most of all! It is a really good shot.

Ah, I am such a lazy type that I just have all the pics on CDs. When we want to go through them it takes ages as I did not even write anything on the packages…so, yeah. Maybe next holidays, when I finally have the time and motivation!
