Operation Pamper Dad! {Family Fun with #NIVEAMoments}

The day my Husband became a Dad, his world changed.

He has always been loving and sensitive but when it comes to the kids, it gets kicked up to a whole new level.

He’s the one who will wake up in the middle of the night to pray with my daughter if she wakes up with a nightmare. And he’s the one who willingly volunteers to stay up to play with my son when he thinks it’s way too early to call it a night.

I know this sounds cliche. But he really is the World’s Best Dad…

ok, fine… the World’s Best Dad to our kids.

He’s up each morning to take my daughter to school and gets back home, after a long day at work, as a Health Professional, well past 6 in the evening. So it would be understandable if he just threw himself back on the couch and relaxed.

But no!

Once he changes out of his work clothes and washes up, he’s down on the floor playing with the kids, most often than not, in their tiny play house!!

And he does so without a murmur!

He truly is the World’s Best Dad!!

Planning Operation Pamper Dad

To surprise Hubs this past week, we decided to throw him an evening of pampering.

Knowing Hubs I knew it had to involve coffee and since everyone knows Sam’s Club carries yummy Starbucks pouches, off I went!

Since I’d been asked to try out NIVEA’s Essentially Enriched Lotion and Sam’s has these in club sizes, in a twin pack, I decided we’d throw a hand massage into the mix.

It was the perfect addition as Hubs has always been complaining of dry skin as he washes his hands, several times a day, with a strong anti-bacterial soap. He does this to scrub away any possible yucky germs that may travel home with him from the work place. As a result his skin has been peeling away in several areas, so the kids sometimes yell “Dada! Scratchy Hands!!” when he grabs them up for a hug.

Looking at the pack, I figured, this should do the trick, plus my Mom has always loved and used NIVEA, so it wasn’t hard to pick it off the shelf. (So yes, I do listen to what Mama says!!)

An evening filled with TLC…lots of it!!

Well the evening finally arrived and I’m not sure what Hubs was most excited about…

Not having to sit in a claustrophobic play house and sweat a good twenty minutes or so
The big mug of coffee (oh yes!) and a plate filled with slices of my freshly baked Blueberry Streusel Bread or
The attention!

My daughter began with the hand massage while my son serenaded Dad on his toy guitar. (If any of you have a 2 year old, you’d know how loud a serenade can get!!)

Everything seemed to be going as planned, so I stepped into the bedroom to do a little organizing.

When I stepped out, apparently things had changed.

The person of prominence was now our daughter, who was getting her hands massaged not just by Dad, but also by the little man!

Oh well, we tried.

Hubs was happy that we thought of doing something out of the ordinary for him. My daughter was over the moon to be included in the massage session. And my son was just happy that he was having fun!

So thankful that it doesn’t take a lot to make my family happy.

You really don’t have to splurge financially to have those special #NIVEAMoments !
