Is it just me or does it seem like the days have been flying by way too quickly?
Apparently today marks the 100th day of school for Bunny girl. Wasn’t her 100th day of Kindergarten just a few days ago?
Sigh!
This year, because we couldn’t find the hair clips featured, this Mama decided to get a little crafty with a red hairband, 3 glitter pipe cleaners and a pair of scissors.
With a little bending and shaping, you should end up with a 100th Day of School Hairband.
After working on the hairband, the “100″ bug bit me a little deeper, so I decided to take the inspiration to the lunchbox.
My excited 1st Grader carried to school…
1. An organic Peanut Butter with Apricot preserves sandwich cut out in the numerals “100″
2. A slice of Apple Crumb Tea Cake with sprinkles shaped into, yes the numerals ”100″ and
3. An assortment of 100 snack bits-organic Oat Cheerios, Cranberries, Cashews and a few Choc, Chips thrown in for good measure.
Yes, all that!
And to finish it all of, how could I not send her to school with a “100″ inspired lunchbox note? (Please don’t judge a sleepy person’s handwriting!)
How do you/your kids celebrate the 100th day of school?

It is the first time I have ever heard of celebrating something like “100th day of School”. Is it an American tradition? I am confused now!

I believe so Alexandra. Back home, we just celebrate major holidays
I didn’t. I honestly have never celebrated it, I am more about celebrating the first and last day of school. That said, I love your ideas. I am going to have to remember this next year since my daughter will be in 5th grade and it will be her last 100 day in grade school.
Maybe this is a Texas thing then? The school actually celebrates the day with school activities etc.
How fun, Love this. Wish they did this when I was in school
!! Love the hair pieces!

My daughter brought home something for that from Kindergarten and it was my first time ever hearing about it. I have not idea it was a big deal and I don’t plan to do anything either. We do have to send in items for something they are doing in class. I am sure I’ll be there since I’m the room parent. I’ll share these with the teacher for inspiration.

Nickida I’m not sure if it is a big deal or not but since the hairband didn’t take time at all, and she anyways take a home lunch and note to school, I figured, why not?
Nice ideas! I love the lunch and note idea! I don’t think we have 100 days of school out here, I mean, I don’t think the school does anything for it. I know we’ve done bring your 100 collection items, which the kids collect 100 things and share them with their classmates.
