How true!
I’m thankful to be blessed with a Mommy who loves books. Why she loves books so much that she actually has her very own library (a room dedicated only to books!) at home.
She passed on her love for reading to me and I’ve passed it on to my 6 year old.
Bunny girl craves books. Yes craves them. And I’m so thankful for that.
Bunny Boo, has been watching his big sister devour each  book she picks up. We now see him happily plop down with a book and read aloud with all his 2 year old might!
Yes, both of them love books.
This when I heard Champions for Kids September Project was a book drive, I was stoked! It was such an honor to partner with this awesome organization to bag school supplies forward…
and now this month, help “pass a book forward” with the Nickelodeon Big Help Book Drive
The Buzz…
Gather your friends, family, and co-workers by hosting a Nickelodeon Big Help Book Drive!
Ask each person to bring books and magazines that are appropriate for children, and give the books and magazines to a teacher, librarian, or community representative for his or her students.Â
It’s as simple as that.
Not all children are blessed with families who introduce them to books at an early age.
But why should that hold them back from being introduced to books at school…or in a library…or at a day-care center.
You can help!
Champions 4 Kids and Nickelodeon are rallying book-lovers like you (and me) to buy/search out out from your library and donate!
On a recent Walmart run, I stopped by their book section to pick up a few books for this Project.

Many people are unaware that  Walmart actually has quite a large collection of children’s books and magazines, up for purchase. Prices for most books are very affordable and you can find some great deals if you hunt through the shelves.

Our local store had a carousel stocked with character themed Early Reader books…

and yes, a decent collection of Nickelodeon favorites…

After spending a good half hour, trying the pick as many books as I could within the budget I’d set, I finally came home with 13 books…

And my little book-worm searched through the kids’ library and came out with more books to add to our donation stash.
So here’s what we will be donating to either my daughter’s classroom at school or our local library. (Both do so much to encourage little ones to read…and sadly don’t have enough funds to add as much as they want to their children’s book collection.)…

Love it!!
This coming week we will be asking friends to add to our collection, so hopefully we will have much more to donate.
Will you join us? It’s easy! Come along…take the initiative and start your own book drive too!
You will be making a difference in not just one life…but many!
Please help spread the word…

WOW …What a great cause.. I love reading and so do my kids; you can NEVER have enough books; I grew up with 0 (none, zill, zip.. yes Zero!!) books and since I have my own kids I can’t stop buying books and giving them books to look at read and investigate… I can’t believe my mom never bought me any books.. what a great thing you are doing.. Kids nee to read.. keep it up
What an awesome initiative to get more books in to the hands that really need them and the minds that desire to learn! I hope you were able to collect many more books. I think the school and/or library are both fabulous choices.
