July 20, 2012…Aurora, we remember.

Yesterday I took the kids to watch a summer feature at our local movie theater. It was the first time we’d gone in for one of those summer concession features. The 2 dollars a head ticket that included a drink,  a bag of popcorn and admission to the kids’ movie was definitely worth it.

Bunny girl walked out of the theater slotting out the following week’s schedule.

We just had to do these features for the rest of the summer.

I agreed…

till I read the news this morning.

Something as hideous as that could happen… without an ulterior motive…to innocent people…in the most unexpected of places.

The whole morning I could only think of those who’d lost their lives. The families who are left behind. The wounded battling for life in the hospitals. People still looking for their loved ones.

And in my helplessness the only thing I can do was pray.

Only the LORD can comfort, heal, embrace, everyone involved.

May we remember those involved in this horrible tragedy. Lift them (and their families) up in prayer.

Remember to hold your loved ones a little closer tonight. Be thankful always…always.

And never take anything for granted.
