A few days ago, while on Twitter, I noticed a tweet fly across. It sounded like a little kid’s unspoken cry for help on his first day of big kids school. So yes, the Mama in me had to reassure the sender, that big kids school in Twitter-land wasn’t all that big and scary!

And then I forgot about that.
2 days later I received an email from the Fairy Hobmother-

If I were lucky enough to win the amazon GC, I would use it towards getting my mom something special. I have been saving to get her a kindle touch! I know she would love it (she loves to read) and it would be something special for HER. After losing my dad unexpectedly 6 months ago, she’s been having some of her own health issues and I’d love to give her something she would enjoy. Plus she could check books out from the library without leaving home when she’s not feeling well.

I love random acts of kindness! We could really use the giftcard here, for sure. The first of Aug I’m quitting full time work(daycare) to be more Mom and Wife at home. Which is great, but definitely scary/big financial change. I’d love to get a going away gift for the two families we have full time. That’s what I’d do with the amazon card.

OH Marina, this doesn’t surprise me at ALL that you were the one to reach out, but to be rewarded for being kind is pretty nice!
So I was thinking, a simple game of paying it forward would be so fun! Really, any of us blog readers love the “marketing” they do with products is really investing time into being “gifted” something unexpected anyway. So, although someone in our family (my young daughter with a new baby, my two daughters working to get an education slow but sure, or my mom who is single and over 80 on such little funds to live) or a neighbor or friend could surely use this…especially in hard times like now. But since YOU were rewarded by a complete stranger it would be fun to do the same. I am not sure how, but I’d like to “find” a complete stranger to gift this to…perhaps a single mom who needs diapers or a new fun summer toy for her kids…a college grad who can’t find a job and has insurmountable bills to pay…an elderly person who goes to church and opens the door to a young mom with a baby in arms, but doesn’t have a lot and would be fun to just treat someone to a fun or needed item. I’d be SO happy and feel so warm and fuzzy in doing so! That’s what I’d do with my fairy hobmother’s gift!
I would give this to my neighbor’s son who is graduating from High School and begins college in Sept. I know he can put it to good use.
