An Apple a Day: Crafts and Activities
I thought it might be fun to do lessons about apples with my kiddos, so they could have fun and experiment with apples this fall.
My original goal was to do something with apples every day of the week for an entire week (the reason for the title ‘An Apple a Day’), then move on to another topic…but with busy lives and unforeseen circumstances arising, it didn’t exactly turn out to be ‘an apple a day’. That just meant we could spread out the fun a little more!

Apple Taste Testing
.
All I did was pick up a few different kinds of apples, cut them each in half then cut one half in quarters for tasting. I labeled each plate with the apple pieces, so we could keep them straight as well.
Then we did our taste testing. The kids looked like they were eating oranges avoiding the skins.

Marshmallow Apples
.
These apples are super simple to make. Just cut a marshmallow in half, then stick a toothpick in one half and dunk it quickly in water. Once it’s wet, sprinkle red decorating sugar over it until it is covered.
To finish off the apple, the kids and I added a green sprinkle to the top, but you could also use green icing for the stem..

YUM!

So fun! We did the apple taste test for school in the kids’ kindergarten curriculum. It was fun! Of course, we liked the most expensive apples the best… go figure. =)
Love the fruit loop worm idea, and the marshmallow apple is adorable! Almost too adorable to eat! =)
You are so creative!
